On the 22 September 2011 Victoria BID held its first training and networking event especially for Personal Assistants, Executive Assistants and Office Managers to coincide with the first National PA Day. The event was hosted at The Grosvenor Hotel and as over 30 guests arrived from 5.30pm afternoon tea was served in the decadent surroundings of the Lounge. FREE to BID members the event focussed on finding strategies for dealing with people perceived as difficult and proved a great success bringing PA's from a wide range of local businesses together.
Victoria BID in conjunction with London 2012 held a briefing event on Thursday 14 July looking at how businesses in Victoria will be affected by the Olympic and Paralympic Games and what your business could do to prepare. Millions of additional passenger journeys will be made during the games on top on usual demand, increasing congestion on most parts of the public transport network. This is particularly so for Victoria as a gateway to London and other central London Games activity, not forgetting that Horse Guards Parade will provide the location for Beach Volley Ball.
The Olympic Route Network and Paralympics Route Network will displace traffic into surrounding areas, making roads much busier in some parts of London. Distribution activity will also be affected in certain locations and at certain times for businesses receiving and supplying goods and services, as well as other movements, such as waste collections.
