Greening Victoria: Creation of a Meadow Garden

With help from the local community, it is hoped that a large area (approximately 50x50m) on Churchill Gardens Estate can be turned into an open space/park, containing an informal picnic area, meadow garden and wildlife area.  This project is being funded and overseen by the Natural England and can be broken into 2 phases.

OPPORTUNITIES [Enquiry Form]

Phase 1:
Volunteers are needed to help clear and prepare the site over the next 4 months.  This will involve clearing overgrown vegetation and erection of a new fence. Installation of a new fence (approximately 25m in length) will involve digging holes, mixing concrete, attaching wire to fence posts etc.

Phase 2:
Volunteers are needed to help plant seeds and trees and help to create a wildlife area, vegetable garden, orchard and an informal picnic area.

Schedule

Churchill Gardens Estate  are looking for a team of between 4-12 people, Weekly for 1/2 day or full day sessions or one off activities ongoing for the next year.
