Prosperous Economy
The Victoria BID is helping to secure SW1 as a thriving commercial hub
for business. Creating sustainable models to bolster increased footfall
for retailers, development of small business networks and secured inward
investment. In light of truly testing times for businesses nationwide,
Victoria is on track to seize opportunities that will cement its
commercial prosperity for the long haul, safeguarding sources of inward
investment and viable opportunities to come. One priority is to support
and strengthening of local employment schemes, promoting additional
spend in the area from the construction workforce and end user
workforce.

Victoria Employment Charter
The Victoria Employment Charter launched at The Peak, Victoria’s latest award-winning development on Thursday 11 November, 2010. The Charter constitutes a formal partnership between Victoria BID, London Employers' Accord, Land Securities and The Mayor of London. It ensures a more coordinated service to employers addressing their recruitment and training needs, enabling the local workforce to acquire the skill levels required to meet the demand being generated by a range of businesses in SW1.
We would like to invite BID occupiers within the hospitality, construction and retail sectors to sign up to the Charter, making a voluntary pledge to the following principles:
- To identify jobs across all occupational areas within the retail and hospitality sectors from entry level positions through to piloting opportunities for highly skilled positions and graduate programmes,
- To then inform the London Employer Accord of the new employment opportunities in the Victoria area with a lead of 3 weeks from notification of vacancy through to final employer interview.
