The desire to disseminate best practice and lead the way in green infrastructure retrofitting schemes in dense urban environments is at the heart of the work the BID is undertaking. The aspiration is to deliver marked improvements in biodiversity, flood risk management and make the area more visually appealing thus creating a legacy that we can be proud of. We decided to become principal sponsor of the IHDC competition this year as we found real synergy with the IHDC competition, as the vision and values that we share are one and the same. We look to harness the expertise and potential within the industry to raise awareness, reward commitment and devise innovative solutions to issues that could be used in real situations to create a positive impact. The awards were announced in October 2011.
